Re Source: a community networking app
Re Source would serve as a digital platform for communication, consensus, collaboration, and resource sharing.
Map
This would be the page where events, farm stands, or resources can be seen or created.
For example, the map could “rebuild island soil” buy providing a network for:
People who produce food scraps
People who compost
People who need compost
The information would be displayed in either map or a list, sorted by distance.
Settings
Users can block other users from seeing things they post. Some users content is only visible to people in their network, while others is public.
Search and Messages
This would search the whole app to help you quickly find the skills and resources you need. It is sorted by matching what you have to give with what other people want. Your goods are tagged on your profile with the ability to write clarifying notes as well. It is further sorted by how active the account is. Once you find who has what you need, it sends you to a trade window to digitally barter until both parties are satisfied.
Networks
Affinity Forums for groups of people who meet in real life, who need a forum that schedules and helps plan real life events. Once a user is accepted or invited, the group's events sync with the user's personal calendar and map. Some groups can be discussion only, and not an IRL affinity group with a space, if it is directly related to a local cause.
Events
This would be a calendar of every public event or activity sorted by distance, and includes private events you have been invited to.
Lending Library
This is where people could post the tools they are willing to share with others. Agreements would be made one-on-one over private messages. Also sorted by distance.
Feed
A mixture of all the sources of content.
Announcements:
Everything from “I lost my dog!” to “what was that booming sound near town?”
Discussion
Basic rules of conduct apply: No name calling, harassment, ect
Different issues would be upvoted by popularity for relevancy, as well as the comments, or you could sort by new. A poll would be attached to each forum to see what a majority of the users agree upon, but would not be available for one week to allow for discussion. then the results would remain invisible until the results are posted.
These results, and the comments/discussions surrounding them, would formally act as an advisory council for specific issues within government. Proposals could be posted here, and when someone votes in a poll, it can direct them to a link where they can vote on the actual issue in the county.
RPG MODE
There can be two skins, the basic skin, and the RPG skin that stylizes the UI and adds a “Quests” and “Points” options, where you can give people silly quests for points, and they can use their points to post silly quests.
Transportation tracker and integrated real time ferry map
